Into Your Hands is a publication of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales.
 
It is a book for the recently bereaved and anyone who needs to plan a funeral. It contains the complete scripture readings and prayers of the Order of Christian Funerals, which can be read and meditated on quietly in your own time, and sets of sample General Intercessions (bidding prayers).
 
It also includes a planning section explaining the background to the funeral rite. There is an Introduction listing the different kinds of funeral service that are possible, and the meaning and importance of the elements they contain, such as scripture, prayer and symbol. In addition there are planning sheets to fill in, a checklist of what you need to know and do when someone dies, and a list of organizations whose task is to help the bereaved.
 
Into You Hands gives an opportunity to the mourners and bereaved, those most involved in this liturgy which takes place at such a significant and painful time, to play their full part in it.
