Still Standing is an original Lent course by Rachel Mann. Inspired by some of the themes of Rocketman, the award-winning film based on the life of Sir Elton John, the course explores themes of identity, relationships, failure and redemption, and what we can learn about them from the Bible - in particular the new life won for all of us through the resurrection of Jesus.
 
The course is based around five weekly sessions suitable both for individuals and for groups meeting either online or in person:
- 'In Want of Love' - how do we become who we are?
- 'Border Songs' - the power and price of friendship
- 'Into Orbit' - the temptations and promises of 'success'
- 'Sad Situations' - when sorry is the hardest word
- 'Still Standing' - facing the truth and starting again.
 
Each session includes suggested clips from the film, as well as discussion questions, exercises and reflections suitable for groups and individuals, opening and closing prayers, and activities to consider across the week.
